“More dangerous than the sound of boots, is the silence of the slippers” Max Frisch

I hesitated before writing this little message, because as you can imagine, it won’t please everyone… And then last night I went to the Théâtre Antoine, to see the “Dead Poets Society”, and that made me reminded that we must always get involved, dream of a better world, stand up against the established order and censorship. This reminded me of those formative readings as a teenager recommended by my philosophy teacher at Nanterre, by Henri David Thoreau: Walden, and Civil Disobedience. On November 4, 2023, three weeks after the horrible, imbecile and counterproductive attack (by the clerics) of Hamas, which led to the inhumane and despicable response of the Zionist (religious) extremists against the Gazans, I wrote from a city dear to my heart, Donostia, the text you can find below. More than six months later and almost 50,000 dead (we are undoubtedly far below the real figures) the far-right racist government of the “only democratic government” in the Middle East is waging the worst war that can exist: that delivered against civilians, children, defenseless women, without any refuge. A war against humanity. The Israeli army methodically razed Gaza. Its hospitals. Its schools. Its Universities. An attempt to erase his memory. Like European settlers once did with real Americans. Those who were then called Native Americans. With a triple objective: to make the Gaza Strip unlivable; drive out the survivors in order to allow its colonization. The third objective which is less talked about is to accelerate the colonization of the West Bank and to continue before the eyes of the whole world the theft of land, houses, and the abuses of settlers protected by the IDF soldiers. A human life is worth another human life. Religious extremists and the far right have the same face everywhere. Let us refuse this blackmail of anti-Semitism as soon as we attack the policies of the State of Israel. It doesn’t take anymore. I loathe religious extremists of all kinds. The Priests. The Rabbis.
